Lionel Messi is close to agreeing a lucrative move to MLS side Inter Miami, talkSPORT understands.
Argentina captain Messi’s Paris Saint-Germain contract is due to expire at the end of the season.
Now he is in line for a sensational move to David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami, who are managed by his former Manchester United teammate Phil Neville.
Miami finished sixth in the Western Conference last season in only their second year in the MLS.
They are eager to mount a championship charge and Messi would represent a huge statement of intent.
Messi – a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner – has been at PSG since 2021 following an emotional exit from Barcelona.
He penned a two-year deal, but struggled in his first season in Ligue 1 before finding his feet in France this term.
Messi managed just 11 goals in all competitions, and has already surpassed that total in the first half of this season.

Speculation has been rife over what will happen to the 35-year-old when his contract expires.
Barcelona have always insisted they would welcome him back with open arms.
PSG president Nasser Al-KhelaifiAl-Khelaifi recently gave an exclusive interview with talkSPORT’s Jim White at the Qatar World Cup and said: “He is with us. He is a Paris Saint-Germain player and has a contract with us. He has a contract with us and we will see at the end of the season. He’s happy in Paris.”
Messi himself said he will decide on his future after the World Cup.
He said: “[My future] will depend on how I feel personally and physically above all. After this World Cup we will see what could happen with my career.”
But now it seems as though he could be Miami-bound.
