England have reached the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup – and now fans are well and truly dreaming of glory in Qatar.
The Three Lions took top spot in Group B as they claimed seven points from their three games.
After a brilliant display in their opening match to thrash Iran 6-2, England were less impressive in a 0-0 draw with USA, setting up an all-British showdown against Wales to seal qualification.
They duly secured their progression to the knockouts in style by beating Wales 3-0 – making it a record nine goals in the group stage of a tournament for England.
Gareth Southgate’s men then saw off Senegal in the last 16, cruising to 3-0 win thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.
The Three Lions now face a quarter-final clash against World Cup holders France on Saturday, December 10 at 7pm UK time.

If England were to win that and progress beyond the quarter-finals, they would next play on Wednesday, December 14.
And one of Morocco, Switzerland, Spain or Portugal would await in the semi-finals.
And then, finally, if England were to win again, a World Cup final against Argentina, Brazil, Netherlands or Croatia may well await on Sunday, December 18.
All in all, it’s a pretty straightforward route to football coming home… we hope!
