Jadon Sancho will not be travelling with the Manchester United squad to their training camp in Spain this week.
The Red Devils are set to play friendlies against LaLiga outfits Cadiz and Real Betis in Andalusia ahead of the restart of the Premier League, but one of their young stars will remain at home.
Sancho has had a tough time at United since he signed from Borussia Dortmund last summer, having so far failed to replicate the levels he reached in the Bundesliga.
He will now remain in England for the next few days as his fellow teammates jet across the continent, with United releasing their list of players who will feature in Spain.
United will prepare for the resumption of the domestic campaign later this month by playing two friendlies, away to Cadiz and Real Betis.
The Cadiz clash will take place on Wednesday, December 7 at 7pm and the Real Betis game at 5pm on Saturday, December 10.
David de Gea, Donny Van de Beek and Anthony Martial have all been included in the travelling squad.
With Sancho omitted, the club said: “Jadon Sancho is continuing his individual training programme as part of a process to get back to his highest level.
“The club is fully supporting him in this.”
