Carl Froch says Tyson Fury is the best heavyweight in the world and no one else even comes close and would rather see him fight Joe Joyce than Oleksandr Usyk

In Carl Froch’s eyes, there is no argument as to who is the number one heavyweight in the world right now – it’s Tyson Fury.

Following Fury’s most recent victory over Derek Chisora in their trilogy bout, former super middleweight world champion, Froch, was full of praise for ‘The Gypsy King’.

Froch took to Twitter to express his admiration for Fury, saying: “Tyson Fury is absolutely the best heavyweight in the world right now.

“Whoever you think is number two, would not even come close to beating him.

“He’s too big, too strong, too skilful, has complete self belief when he climbs over that top rope and quite simply destroys anyone!”

One fan commented below with: “Joe Joyce is the only one I think could give him a nightmare night.”

To which Froch replied: “Such an interesting fight, would love to see him try to stop the Juggernaut Joyce.

“Would rather see the Joyce fight than Usyk, I don’t think Usyk is big enough.”

Hopefully boxing fans will not have to choose between seeing Fury against either Usyk or Joyce, but instead he will take on both, as ‘The Gypsy King’ has promised the biggest year of his career in 2023.

“We’re hopefully gonna see the biggest year of my career. 2023, we’re gonna get the big fights that the fans really crave,” Fury said at the post-fight press conference after beating Chisora.

“First of all let’s talk about Usyk. I’m ready, I’m willing, to take on Usyk next – whether it’s gonna be in Saudi Arabia or back here in the UK. Both places will be fantastic.

“And let’s give the fans one champion, one name, one face. Usyk’s up to the challenge. He came over tonight, so fair play to him.

Fury went on to say: “But if it doesn’t for X, Y or Z reasons, then we’ll have Joe Joyce at Wembley next year as well.

“But providing the Usyk one does happen, then I’ll do him and then I’ll have Joe Joyce as well at Wembley, why not?”
